In Politics This Week In Kenya
DP William Ruto’s party has some flip flopping supporters in the Samburu County area, As Moses Lenolkulal has been doing campaigning for Dr Richard Lesiyampe & Henry Lengolos of the Azimio La Umoja One-Kenya party. As anyone understands it is usual that a party member would support only those of his party. Residents have called out Lenolkulal for his support of others from another political party.
Kelvin Kioko also known as Bahati has been dwelt a blow in his political bid as the party (Azimio la Umoja One Kenya) to push aside its less popular or weaker candidates for those who have a stronger chance of winning. Leaving Jubilee candidates to do the exam same, so senior running officials can go up against senior officials in the August elections.
ODM is parting ways with Maendeleo Chap Chap since it has joined with UDA Florence Mutua initiated the disconnect over the weekend, which may cause issues for Railia in areas of Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties, where MCC is supporting several candidates.
Kenyans are worried about the increase in crime getting worse as the upcoming elections near. There has been an increase of fraud due to the election as well as criminal thugs, armed robbery. There is also an increase in assault attacks like that on the female motorists attacked by boda boda drivers.
Police are investigating the death of a senior officer who died in the home of his girlfriend
A 52 year old senior Sergeant , named Simon Gakula was found dead in the home of his girlfriend after a supposed night of drinking with her. Officer Gakula had become sick early that night and taken to the home to sleep. His body was found with medicine in his pocket, he suffered from high blood pressure and was even relocated to a different station near his home. His body is currently at Meru Level Five Hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy into the exact cause of his death.
The girlfriend has given a recorded statement. For now police are awaiting the results of the examination of his body.
East African Bloc to Deployed Army Troops to The DRC
Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya East African leaders have agreed to send in troops to stabilize life in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Besides the reemerging of the rebel group M23, there are several rebel groups in the region with ties to Rwanda & Uganda. Some are accusing Rwanda of backing the M23 rebel group as well as speculating that Rwanda won’t deploy troops to assist in the DRC.
EAC leaders are asking the Congo and Rwanda to change the offensive language they’re using as well as the threats of genocide.
Uganda Affected By War Torn DRC Influx of Migrants in Kisoro
The government of Uganda is worried about the spread of disease as well as how to handle the lack of facilities and medical services available to all. There are currently more than 63,000 Congolese in the area fleeing from violence.
